Signiant develops software solutions and professional services products that enable enterprises to centrally control and securely move their remote data.
Signiant was spun out of Nortel Networks in August 2000. Signiant’s core technology was developed within Nortel to carrier-grade specifications and implemented by multiple groups within Nortel for several years prior to the spin out. Nortel Network's enterprise-wide data transfer challenges required an advanced solution capable of managing the entire transfer process (set-up, content extraction, multiple distribution schemes, post-processing, end-to-end exception handling, reporting, security, etc.). Since there was no such product on the market, Nortel Networks began a development effort resulting in the robust, agent-based, flexible data movement technology that is now the core of Signiant's product portfolio.
